Drug Pipeline Analytics Tool
Project Overview
InScope LLC developed analytical and visualization tools for Mantis, an advanced analytics platform designed to optimize observational research in medicine. Mantis addresses the complexities of integrating diverse data sources and streamlining study execution, thereby accelerating the development of personalized treatments. The platform enables users to assess drug development trends, evaluate risks, and make data-driven decisions based on a comprehensive dataset. Covering the entire pharmaceutical landscape—from major pharmaceutical companies to private biotech firms—it delivers detailed intelligence across a wide range of therapeutic areas, including oncology and orphan diseases.
Specification
Mantis integrates heterogeneous healthcare data from Electronic Health Records (EHRs), imaging systems, molecular assays, and patient-reported outcomes to create Tumor Map, Trial Map, Development & Portfolio Pipeline, Drug Map, Deal Map, Company Atlas, Clinical Peration, Oncology Epidemiology, Oncology Trial Results and Target Map Dashboards. These data sources often used different formats and standards, leading to significant interoperability issues.
Built with Node.js for high-performance, non-blocking processing. Uses JavaScript & D3.js for interactive, real-time data visualization, enabling pattern recognition and trend analysis.
Ensures HIPAA & GDPR compliance with Java-based encryption, access controls, and regular security audits for data protection.
Challenges
Mantis overcomes challenges in data interoperability by integrating diverse healthcare data sources (EHRs, imaging, molecular assays) using FHIR/HL7 standards and AI-driven normalization, ensuring real-time processing and scalability with Apache Kafka, distributed computing (Apache Spark), and optimized Node.js architecture; addresses HIPAA/GDPR compliance through AES-256 encryption, role-based access control, and federated learning for secure data handling.
Regular security audits ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory frameworks. Enhances interactive visualization of complex medical data with D3.js, WebGL acceleration.
