Project Overview
InScope LLC developed Genome Visualization tool for Argos, a platform providing quality-controlled reference genomes for diagnostic applications and regulatory science. The primary challenge was ensuring compliance with FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) and other regulatory standards, while integrating data transformation tools to unify diverse genomic datasets into a standardized format.
Argos is a specialized tool providing public, quality-controlled reference genomes for diagnostic applications and regulatory science. Using provided reliable dataset of curated genomic information, Argos supports medical professionals, researchers, and regulatory bodies in conducting accurate genetic analysis.
Specification
The project focuses on developing quality matrix tools integrated with genome data visualization tools, containing regulatory-grade reference genomes for diagnostic use and regulatory science. This integration enhances the rapid development of diagnostics, therapeutics, and vaccines against infectious diseases. A key feature of Argos is its interactive visualization capabilities, which allow users to explore genomic data through intuitive graphs, comparative charts, and detailed sequence mapping. These tools help make complex genetic information more accessible and actionable.
Challenges
One of the primary challenges in developing genome visualization tool for Argos was meeting FHIR and regulatory requirements for interoperability of genomic data that comes in multiple formats, making it difficult to align with standards. Additionally, developing an efficient system for visualizing large-scale genomic data in a way that is both informative and user-friendly and real-time format posed a technical challenge.
Our Solution
To address these challenges, InScope LLC developed custom data transformation pipelines that automatically map and convert raw genomic data into FHIR-compliant structures. This ensured that all data was formatted consistently and met regulatory standards. The team integrated ETL tools and APIs to ingest, process, and normalize genomic datasets, enabling a single standardized view within the Argos platform. The front-end team used Next.js with custom genome browser libraries, ensuring interactive, high-speed data exploration while maintaining compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Advanced ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines were implemented to normalize, map, and convert diverse genomic datasets into a single standard. Built using Next.js, the system delivers fast performance, efficient data handling, and a seamless user experience. A custom genome browser and additional visualization libraries enable users to explore genomic data in an intuitive, structured manner.
By combining high-quality genomic data with powerful visualization capabilities, the project demonstrates InScope LLC’s commitment to advancing precision medicine and regulatory research through innovative, data-driven solutions.
